AASHTO Now Taking Applications for Fellowship Position
Applications are now being accepted for an Engineering/Management Fellow at the Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials.
The successful candidate for the one year fellowship will assist senior AASHTO engineering staff in the work it provides for the Board of Directors, the Standing Committee on Highways, and its subcommittees (including design, construction, bridges, traffic, engineering, operations, maintenance, materials, etc.). The fellow also works with a variety of technical committees in the production of engineering and operations-related professional publications and responds to technical inquiries on these publications and policies.
Eight to 15 years of professional experience in transportation is required, preferably at a state transportation department.
“Everyone at AASHTO played a role in the lesson and experiences this fellowship has allowed,” said Tasha Johnson, outgoing AASHTO fellow and district engineer at the North Carolina Department of Transportation. “I complete this year a renewed person and a changed professional. I look forward to the many ways I will be able to use my new skills and enthusiasm in the future in not just the transportation field, but also in the community.”
All applications are due by August 15. A detailed description of the fellowship position is available at http://bit.ly/AASHTOfellowship. Any questions on the position may be directed to AASHTO Human Resource Manager Christine Beauvais at cbeauvais AT aashto.org or 202-624-5800.
